Resources for Weatherization, Energy & Social Services
If you are looking for information on how to make your home more affordable or comfortable, this is the place for you.
These community energy resources are supported by federal and state agencies to improve comfortable and energy-efficient homes for families and housing of all types. If you are a rental tenant, make sure you contact your landlord as soon as you notice a concern or problem with the heating, cooling or ventilation system in the home. If tenants want to improve energy efficiency, they can begin by checking that the thermostat and heating system are operating correctly. NH law requires that a rental dwelling be maintained at an average temperature of 65 degrees, although it does not require that landlords ensure the home be cooled to a certain temperature. Tenants may be able to work with their landlords to reduce drafts, insulate, weatherize, install more efficient windows, or upgrade heating systems. If you are a homeowner, the amount of assistance or resources may be dependent on your income. Find more information on the USDA Single Family Housing Repair Loans & Grants here.
